Getting Started
Is OurRiviera free to use?
Yes, OurRiviera is completely free to join and use. You can browse thousands of user-created travel itineraries, save your favourite trip plans, and create and publish your own itineraries at no cost.
How do I create my first trip?
Click the "Create Trip" button in the top navigation to open the travel planner. Start by adding basic details like your trip title, duration, and cover photos. Then build your travel itinerary by adding locations, experiences, and accommodations for each day. You can also describe your destination to our AI assistant, which will draft a complete day-by-day itinerary you can edit and refine before publishing.
How do I find trips to specific destinations?
Use the search bar on the Discover page to find trip itineraries by destination name, or browse through featured journeys curated by our team. You can filter results by duration, travel style, and other preferences. The interactive globe on the Discover page also lets you visually explore trips by clicking on any pinned destination to see what other travelers have planned there.
What does "remixing" a trip mean?
Remixing creates a personal copy of someone else's travel itinerary that you can customise and make your own. Use any published trip as a starting point and modify it to fit your preferences, travel style, and budget. The original author is credited, and your remixed version is tracked separately so others can discover and remix it too.
Managing Your Trips
How do I add photos to my locations?
When editing a location in your trip itinerary, look for the "Photos" section. Click the upload button to add images from your device. You can add multiple photos to showcase different aspects of each location. Photos are one of the most effective ways to make your itinerary more useful and discoverable. Trips with photos receive significantly more views in the Discover feed.
Can I save trips to view later?
Yes, click the bookmark icon on any published travel itinerary to save it to your "Saved" collection. Access all your saved trips from the navigation menu at any time. Saving a trip also helps the author by increasing their save count, which improves the trip's visibility in the travel community.
What's the difference between draft and published trips?
Draft trips are private and only visible to you and your collaborators while you're working on them. Published trips are public and can be discovered, saved, and remixed by other travelers on the Discover page. You can also publish to "Friends Only" if you'd prefer to share your itinerary with a smaller audience before making it fully public. Moving a trip back to draft removes it from public discovery immediately.
Can I collaborate on a trip with others?
Yes, OurRiviera supports collaborative trip planning. You can invite other members as collaborators on any of your trips, giving them editing access to help build the itinerary together. This is especially useful for group travel where multiple people are contributing ideas, accommodation choices, and local recommendations.
Community & Safety
How do trip ratings work?
Users can rate any published travel itinerary on four criteria: Safety, Accuracy, Value, and Completeness. These real traveler reviews help others assess the quality and reliability of a trip plan before they use it to plan their own journey. You can also leave a written review to share specific tips or important caveats about the itinerary.
How do I report inappropriate content?
If you encounter a travel itinerary or profile that violates our community guidelines, please contact us at support@ourriviera.com with details about the issue. Include the URL of the content and a brief description of the concern. Our team reviews all reports and takes action within 48 hours.
Technical Support
Why can't I upload photos?
Ensure your photos are in JPG, PNG, or WEBP format and under 20MB in size. If you're still having trouble, try refreshing the page or using a different browser. Photos are stored securely on our CDN and are typically processed within a few seconds of upload.
The map isn't loading properly. What should I do?
This could be due to ad blockers or browser settings. Try disabling ad blockers for OurRiviera, clearing your browser cache, or switching to an updated browser. The interactive map is central to how we display trip itineraries visually, so enabling it gives you the full OurRiviera experience.
